May 4, 2009 - Daymark Solutions, Inc. shared its first-hand knowledge of virtualization with attendees at the New England Area VMware Users Group Meeting with a presentation entitled Avoiding the Top Pitfalls When Implementing VMware Site Recovery Manager in Your Environment. Two of Daymark's leading VMware experts, Director Bruce Hall and Principal Consultant Matthew Trottier, gave the presentation at the April 30 users group meeting in Newport, R.I.

Site Recovery Manager is VMware's framework to automate the testing, failover and recovery of virtual machines and the applications running on those virtual machines at a disaster recovery site. However, a successful implementation of Site Recovery Manager depends on a well designed solution which includes both a storage replication architecture and a server infrastructure.

During the presentation, Hall and Trottier explained how IT organizations can avoid the common design and implementation pitfalls that can stop a Site Recovery Manager implementation in its tracks.

"Unleashing the power of VMware's Site Recovery Manager is no simple task, but done properly it can provide incredible resiliency and automation in a VMware environment," said Hall. "Our talk provided conference attendees with some very useful insights into how they can best implement this important technology."
