Daymark Solution's Matthew Brady Achieves Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification


Lexington, MA November 17, 2015 - Daymark Solutions announced today that Matthew Brady, Manager of Daymark’s Managed Services, has earned certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)®. The PMP is a significant addition to Daymark’s long list of technical certifications and competencies.

Awarded by the Project Management Institute, the PMP is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers. Unlike other credentials, the PMP is acknowledged globally and signifies that the project manager speaks and understands the global language of project management.

The PMP requires a minimum of 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of formal project management education. The exam has 200 multiple-choice questions and takes four hours to complete. Additionally, certified PMPs must continue their education by earning 60 professional development units (PDUs) every three years in order to maintain certification.

“Attaining PMP certification is a significant achievement,” said Bruce Hall, Director of Managed Services at Daymark. “This certification validates and complements Matthew’s vast experience successfully leading complex deployments. Daymark Solutions Named CRN® Triple Crown Award Winner

Second Annual Award Recognizes Standout Solution Providers 

Lexington, MA, November 13, 2015 – Daymark Solutions, a leading integration and solutions provider of information technology in New England, announced that it has been honored by The Channel Company with the esteemed 2015 CRN® Triple Crown Award. Fewer than 60 North American solution providers, and only 5 from New England, had the necessary revenue, growth and technical expertise to be recognized on three of CRN’s preeminent solution provider lists, earning them the Triple Crown Award this year.

Microsoft Silver Partner, Daymark Solutions, to Facilitate Azure Hands-on Lab Workshop

 

Lexington, MA, September 11, 2015 – Daymark Solutions announced that Corey Roberts, Director of Technology, will be facilitating a live Azure workshop. This is an instructor-led, interactive, 300-level technical discussion, demo, and hands-on lab at the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) in Kendall Square, on Thursday, September 24, 2015, from 9AM-12PM.

“Adding Microsoft to our solution mix demonstrates our knowledge around Windows 2012 Server, Hyper-V, and integration with Azure," said Corey Roberts, Daymark's Director of Technology.

The workshop is designed for cloud engineers and Windows admins that have purchased Azure and have not implemented it yet.

By the end of this 3 hour live-lab, you should be able to:

  • Establish initial access and configuration of Microsoft Azure
  • Become familiar with the portal and account management interfaces
  • Learn how to deploy compute, storage and network resources

Jay Sartori Achieves Cisco's "Double CCIE" Certification

Lexington, MA, August 10, 2015 - Daymark Solutions announced today that Jay Sartori, Daymark Networking Manager, has earned the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Data Center certification to complement his CCIE Security certification. The CCIE is a prestigious addition to Daymark’s long list of technical certifications and competencies.

The CCIE certification is accepted worldwide as the most prestigious networking certification in the industry. Network engineers holding an active Cisco CCIE certification are recognized for their expert network engineering skills and mastery of Cisco products and solutions. The CCIE certifies the skills required of network engineers to plan, operate and troubleshoot complex, converged network infrastructures on a wide variety of Cisco equipment.

According to Cisco, less than 3% of Cisco Certified engineers obtain CCIE certification and less than 1% of the networking professionals worldwide hold this distinction. Passing all the requirements of the rigorous program earns the individual a unique CCIE number assigned by Cisco.

Team Daymark Supports 2015 “Run to Home Base”  



Funds Raised for U.S. Veterans Suffering Mental Trauma and Brain Injury


Lexington, MA, July 28, 2015
– For the 6th straight year, Daymark employees supported “Run to Home Base” an event committed to helping veterans suffering from mental trauma and brain injuries. This year’s event took place on July 25th.

The annual event, dedicated to healing the “invisible wounds of war,” consists of a 9k route through the streets of Boston with the finish line at home plate in historic Fenway Park. All funds are donated to New England veterans and their families affected by combat stress and traumatic brain injury. Over 2000 people participated in this year’s event, which raised over $1.5 million, and this year, ‘Team Daymark’ was 22 members strong.

"I am sure those who had the chance to meet some of the veterans who were there on Saturday, and listen to the keynote from a returning veteran, understand why this is such an important and impactful cause. It is so easy to get caught up in our own little worlds and forget about those that have given so much for our freedom and opportunity here in the USA,"  said Brian Casey, General Manager and COO at Daymark. “Each year our commitment and fundraising increases. Daymark to Participate in 2015 Boston Young Faces of ALS Corntoss Challenge


Lexington, MA, July 22, 2015 - Daymark Solutions, a leading integration and solution provider of information technology in New England, today announced its support and participation in the 2015 Young Faces of ALS (YFALS) Boston Corntoss Challenge. The event will take place on August 8, 2015 in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA.

Created by people living with ALS who were diagnosed before their 35th birthday, the Young Faces of ALS (YFALS) campaign is the first community for young people afflicted by ALS, as well as their families and friends. YFALS has become a catalyst for accelerating research at the ALS Therapy Development Institute through fundraising events.

YFALS hits close to home for Daymark Senior Consultant, Mike O’Connor, whose close friend, Pete Frates, was diagnosed with YFALS a little over three years ago at the age of 27. “Captain of the Boston College baseball team, Pete was a stellar athlete,” said O’Connor. “I will never forget the day I got that call. His diagnosis hit me like a ton of bricks.”

Awareness of the disease is critical. ALS is in desperate need for additional funding. Raising awareness is key to increasing individual donations as well as government funding. Last year’s Facebook global phenomenon “Ice Bucket Challenge” was a tremendous step toward that goal. Pete was instrumental in getting high-profile athletes, including Tom Brady, to participate.

Pete’s supportive family and dedicated friends have been a great source of strength. “Pete and his family are amazing. They have taken on this disease with grace and passion and have recently founded the Frates ALS Research and Support Fund,” added O’Connor. The Fund was created to carry on Frates’ mission to raise awareness and assist in discovering a treatment and a cure for ALS. Donations to the fund can be made here

For the second year, the Daymark ice cream truck will be at Technology Square to raise funds for the event. “We are proud to support such a worthy cause,” said Tim Donovan, Daymark’s President. “We hope the Daymark ice cream truck will be a big draw to help raise funds for the courageous young people like Pete Frates dealing with ALS.”

History of the Daymark Ice Cream Truck

Why does Daymark have an ice cream truck? Two years ago Corey Roberts, Daymark Director of Technology, who also moonlights as part of a NASCAR pit crew, saw an old ice cream truck for sale. It was in rough shape, but Corey had a vision that together with the help of fellow “Daymarkians” they could turn the ugly duckling into a swan. And that’s just what they did! Rallying 18 fellow employees, they clocked over 2500+ man-hours to refurbish the truck, working several weekends to get it ready to roll (literally) for some summer fun.

Fishing, Clam Bake & Live Music: A Great Recipe for Team Building

Lexington, MA, July 9, 2015 – At Daymark we follow the "work hard - play hard" approach, and last week Daymarkians got to enjoy a day on the ocean during our 14th Annual Daymark Fishing Trip in Gloucester.

The trip was an opportunity to have some fun, practice our team-building skills, as well as promote some healthy inter-company competition. Employees were divided into six teams and prizes were awarded for the first fish caught, the most fish caught, and the largest fish caught.

The competition was fierce, and everyone gave it their all, but at the end of the day, Team Connemara Bay took home the top two prizes, bagging the first fish and largest fish of the day, a 37.5 inch striper. Team Bounty Hunter took home the prize for most fish by changing up their strategy and going after haddock. When it was all said in done, Team Bounty Hunter netted a total of 27 haddock!

After an exciting day at sea, The Justin Beech Duo set the tone for the evening with some great covers from the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Who, and Steely Dan. The clam bake was delicious and the company was even better.
